Christmas tree season is upon us! 🎄
Looking for some ways to reduce the amount of waste this season can produce? Here are some tips:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. If you choose a live cut tree, be sure to either leave it for yard waste pick-up, or take it to be chipped and used for mulch when you're done with it (check with your local municipality for details/events). And if you go the artificial route, look for one that's gently loved. Those trees have a lot of life in them! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2. Light up your tree with LED lights. They save energy and last longer than incandescent.

3. Bring the outside in! Go for a stroll and forage for things like leaves, branches, and pinecones to add to your tree, as well as fill any holes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Give your tree a homemade feel using stringed popcorn and cranberries as garland. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Brighten up your tree with some biodegradable ornaments. Dried orange and grapefruit slices are easy to make and add some beautiful colour. â €
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. Make salt dough ornaments with flour, salt, and water. Use cookie cutters or even a knife to make a variety of shapes. A fun activity (and great memory maker) is to put a handprint or custom design on before placing in the oven to harden.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7) Top off your beautiful tree with a simple star made simply from twigs and a bit of twine. 🌟⠀

Most of these tips are great at getting you outdoors for a bit, and then staying cozy and creative inside. Have fun with it! 😊
