Happy Earth Month!

It’s Earth Month!

6 Easy Ways to Celebrate This Beautiful Planet

April is Earth Month! 🌎

Our favourite thing about this community is how - despite how we may feel defeated sometimes regarding the state of the planet - we all have the mindset of hope. Every bit you do matters. Every effort makes a difference.

For Earth Month, if you're stuck on where to start or where to go next, here are a few ideas to get you going. And if you're doing them already, give yourself a big pat on the back! πŸ‘

1. Plant a garden: maybe it's just a few flowers to help the pollinators, maybe it's enough to replace your trips to the produce section. Whatever your ability level, planting some seeds and nurturing them to maturity is a wondrous activity that creates a beautiful connection with nature, helps local wildlife, and encourages good health!
2. Meal plan: this can be a bit of a pain to get started, but once you have the plan, the rest of the week is easy-peasy! Meal plans are a wonderful way to reduce food waste & save you money!
3. Refill/buy bulk: whether it's skin/hair care, cleaning products, oils/vinegars, dairy products, tofu, beans, grains, or baking needs, there are SO many products you can buy without packaging. Just bring in your own containers and fill 'em up! The earth will thank you!
4. Ride a bike/walk: with the warmer weather and blossoms blooming, this is the perfect time to head out and drink in that fresh air. Good for your mind & body, good for the earth!
5. Compost: the only thing food waste does in the garbage is produce methane. With many places are now offering compost pickup, eliminating this issue from our landfill has never been easier! Just fill up your bin & put it out for weekly collection. If your area doesn't have this service, there are many ways to compost at home, and several people on social media happy to share their tips!
6. Use sustainable cleaning tools: many cleaning tools are made of plastic, which will be on this earth long after you're done with it. Instead, opt for sustainable options which will easily go back to the earth, made from bamboo, wood, and plant/animal fibres.

These are just a few of many ideas. Another great way to celebrate is to invite a friend or family member along to explore some of these ideas, share some laughs, and grow the movement towards a healthier planet. Happy Earth Month!
